Interchange with Marlborough Girls' College

Students may be given the option to attend a class at MGC that meets their academic and career-focused needs. This may be because of timetabling and option constraints within our existing system, or opportunities that are only available at that college.

Student’s records of successful learning and self-management will be a prerequisite for consideration of a students’ entry into the Interchange programme.

The Deans and Leadership Teams will consider each application to participate in the programme. In most cases, this option will only be available to students in Years 12 and 13.

The courses that may be available, depending on staffing and demand at MGC, are:

  • Drama
  • French
  • Te Ao Haka
  • Psychology (level 3)
  • Māori Performing Arts

Click on Learning areas, interchange at MGC, to select one of these courses.

Mrs Attridge and your dean will contact you.

If you are successful, you will be required to:

- represent our college to the high standard we expect from all students, whether on site or travelling to or from one of the colleges.

- wear your uniform correctly and with pride.

- follow school rules re: attendance, submitting work and assessments on time.

Interchange is not always possible. In certain instances it may be possible to follow a course via distance learning through Te Kura.
