Students require Curriculum Level 5P in Number and Measurement for entry to this course. A high level of Literacy and reading comprehension is also required due to the report writing component of the course.
In the event that the course is oversubscribed students will be ranked and selected based on their results.
A specialised Mathematics course designed to prepare students for careers in science, medicine, computing, data science or statistical analysis covering; Numeric Reasoning, Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, Bivariate Data, Multivariate Data and Probability.
All standards are tagged for NCEA Level one Numeracy.
A strong work ethic and a commitment to between one and two hours of independent study every week are required for success in this course.
Pens (blue, black and red),
1J5 5mm quad book (about three for the year),
A laptop for parts of the course, MBC can provide a day loan if necessary.
A textbook will be issued to the student for the year. It is the student's responsibility and must be returned in good condition at the end of the year.

Students are to bring all equipment to every lesson.
