Year 10 General Technology
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. McLean
This course runs for 1 term but will be split into 3 distinct parts:
1. Structures – ‘Bridge building’ : constructing a bridge and then testing it to destruction - half a term duration
2. Mechanisms – ‘Know your Mechanisms’ : Research, construct and then demonstrate a mechanism - half a term
3. ‘Mechanical Toys’ - Applying all the knowledge learnt in order to make a mechanical toy for a child of around 5 years old using mixed materials (plastic, wood, metal or other materials, should your design require it) – 1 term duration.
Course Overview
Term 1
