NCEA L3 Mathematics

Course Description

This NCEA L3 (curriculum level 8) Mathematics course covers probability concepts, critical paths and project management, time series data analysis and algebra. It provides students with the knowledge to pursue commerce, business or arts at the university level.

Recommended Prior Learning

Students require a minimum of 10 Mathematics credits at NCEA level two including an attempt at the external assessment. 

In order to achieve success at NCEA L3 (curriculum level 8) students need to be present for more than 85% of classes, actively engaged during every lesson and complete between two and three hours of independent study every week.

A Graphics Calculator is beneficial but not compulsory.
A textbook will be issued to the student for the year. It is the student's responsibility and must be returned in good condition at the end of the year.
Additional resources are available for an additional charge, these are not compulsory.
Students are to bring all equipment to every lesson.
