NCEA L2 Mathematics with Calculus

Course Description

This NCEA level two (curriculum level 7) Mathematics course covers Algebra, graphing (linear and non-linear), Trigonometry and Calculus and provides a solid foundation for those wishing to take Calculus at NCEA level three.

Recommended Prior Learning

Students require a minimum of 10 Mathematics credits at NCEA L1 to enter any NCEA L2 Mathematics course. It is strongly recommended that students have achieved at least two of AS91028, AS91029, AS91031 and AS91032 at NCEA L1 to ensure they have the prior knowledge to succeed in this course. 

In order to achieve success at NCEA L2 (curriculum level 7) students need to be present for more than 85% of classes, actively engaged during every lesson and complete between two and three hours of independent study every week.

1J5 5mm quad book (about three for the year)
Scientific calculator
Graphics calculator may be beneficial.
A textbook will be issued to the student for the year. It is the student's responsibility and must be returned in good condition at the end of the year.
Additional resources are available for an additional charge, these are not compulsory.
Students are to bring all equipment to every lesson.
