Year 10 Agriculture and Horticulture

A broad course that looks at several aspects of agriculture in New Zealand. It includes:

•  Agriculture in NZ farm types 
• animal management 
• Pasture production, safety, and machinery

Students will gain a general overview of Primary Industries in New Zealand, including forestry, viticulture, aquaculture, sheep and beef, dairy, honey, kiwifruit etc. They will look at the regions and why certain crops/livestock are grown in those areas. Students will learn about the basic structure of soil and plant seeds.
