Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr H. Mackwell
This course is an introduction to senior Physical Education and is a mix of practical (70%) and theory (30%) work.
We complete 5 Achievement Standards which focus on a range of topics
-Effort and participation in a variety of sports
-Sport Science
-Interpersonal (teamwork) skills
-Coaching strategies
-Physical skills assessment
We have tried to make this course as practical as possible while also having a major focus on academic achievement. Based on student numbers and results, this is one of the most successful and enjoyed courses in the school.

Internally assessed Achievement Standards assessed through teacher observation, student reflection and open book written assessment (all online).Pathway
This course leads perfectly into Level 2 Physical Education, Level 2 Sport Studies, Level 2 Outdoor Education and Level 2 & 3 Hono (connect)
Credit Information
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
