No prior learning is required but an interest in Wine Production would be beneficial.
NZ School of Winegrowing Wine Cellar Operations is a full-year course. Students are expected to go to NMIT one day per week on a Trades course in which, over a 2 year period they will work towards a Level 3 Certificate in Cellar Operations. Students will also be expected to participate in a Vintage.
During their classes at school, students will design a product around wine and wine production. The student will need to follow the design process in developing an outcome, through refinement and feedback on a product they have chosen. Students will also learn about Tourism in New Zealand and how it relates to the Wine Industry.
Semester A

Once grapes ripen, students will pick and produce an outcome using the grapes which they have harvested. They then have to package their outcome.
