Recommended Prior LearningStudents need to have completed at least 14 credits in Mathematics at NCEA L1 to be admitted to this course.
A general Mathematics course designed to prepare students for careers in Business, Commerce, Trade or Industry covering; Trigonometry, Sequences and Series and Algebra.
A strong work ethic and a commitment to between two and three hours of independent study every week are required for success in this course.

MCI2A + MCI2B = NCEA L2 Mathematics for Commerce, Business, Trade and Industry which leads to NCEA L3 Mathematics for Trade and Industry or NCEA L3 Mathematics for Commerce and Business.
MES2A + MES2B = NCEA L2 Mathematics for Engineering and Science which leads to NCEA Level three Mathematics for Engineering and Science.
MCI2A + MSP2B = NCEA L2 Mathematics for Statistics and Probability which leads to NCEA Level Three Mathematics for Statistics and Probability.
Any other combination of A and B = NCEA L2 Mathematics for Trade and Industry which leads to NCEA L3 Mathematics for Trade and Industry.
