Students need to have NCEA Level one Numeracy and have Achieved in AS91037 (1.12) - Understanding Chance and Data and either AS91035 (1.10) - Multivariate Data or AS91036 (1.11) - Bivariate Data. Places may be limited in which case results will be ranked and places allocated on that basis.
Due to the amount of report writing required a high level of Literacy and reading comprehension will be required.
A one-semester specialised Mathematics course designed to prepare students for careers in Science, Medicine, Computing, Data Science and Statistical Analysis covering; Elements of Chance, Statistical Inference and Probability.

A specialised semester course for those wishing to continue studying statistics and probability. This course is required for students who wish to take Statistics at NCEA L3.Career Pathways

A textbook will be issued to the student for the year. It is the student's responsibility and must be returned in good condition at the end of the year.
